Agate Properties & Meaning
Agate is a banded form of Chalcedony that comes in a large variety of colors, sizes, and shapes. It was discovered by the Greek philosopher Theophrastus in around the 4th century BC. He named the crystal after the place he initially found it—the shores of the river Achates in Sicily. Today, this crystal is also known as “The Warrior’s Stone,” as it provides accuracy and precision. Indeed, many warriors in ancient times, such as the Roman, Greek, and Egyptian soldiers, carried Agate into battle. They claimed it fortified them with courage and strength.
