Agate
Can I keep my agate in water or salt?
Unlike some crystals, agate is quite durable and can safely be cleansed in water. However, prolonged soaking in salt water isn't recommended as it may gradually erode the stone's polish. For cleansing, you can briefly rinse your agate under running water or use other methods like moonlight charging, smudging, or sound cleansing. Always pat your stone completely dry after any water exposure.
Why does my agate look different from the photos?
Agate forms in unique patterns and color variations, making each piece distinctly individual. While we carefully photograph our specimens to show accurate colors, natural variations in banding, pattern density, and color intensity make every piece one-of-a-kind. The photos represent the typical appearance of our agates, but your specific piece will have its own beautiful characteristics.
How can I enhance the appearance of my agate?
Agate's natural beauty shines best when kept clean and properly displayed. Regular dusting with a soft, dry cloth will maintain its polish. For display, consider using LED lighting to illuminate the stone's translucent bands, or place it on a light-colored surface to highlight its patterns. While some sellers dye their agates, we offer only natural specimens so you can appreciate their authentic colors and patterns.
Agate captivates with its mesmerizing bands of color and intricate patterns formed by nature over millions of years. Each piece features unique concentric circles, swirls, and layers that tell the story of its formation within ancient volcanic rocks.
