Sodalite Properties & Meaning
This beautiful blue crystal was first discovered in Greenland in the 19th century. Sodalite was named after it’s high sodium content by professor Thomas Thomson. He was a chemist hired by the British empire to identify the rock after it was found inside a captured ship arriving from Greenland to Denmark during the Napoleonic wars. However, this gemstone only gained popularity much later, in 1891, after the princess of Wales fell in love with the beauty of a sodalite from Ontario, Canada. She chose this stone to decorate the interior of her palace known as the “Marlborough House” located in England. Ever since, many vast deposits of sodalite have been found in Canada and this is the reason why it is sometimes known as the “Canadian blue stone”. A Sodalite spiral pendant can stimulate self confidence, courage, focus, and clear the mind. It enhances the connection with one’s inner voice and the spiritual dimension. It is very beneficial for individuals who’s professions require creativity and good communication skills such as singers, managers, motivational speakers, writers, composers, teachers, leaders, etc.
